You seem to have left wanderlia silvia off your light heavyweight ranks
November 7, 2007 at 7:58 pm |
I left Silva off on purpose. Until a fighter avtually steps into the Octagon, I don’t rank them. The only exception to this rule is when a fighter is given a title shot off the bat. The only time I can remember this happening was Dan Henderson, and, technically, Randy Couture when he came out of retirement.
PEACE
Brett
PS Thanks for the feedback, I’ll be sure to add a little note to the next rankings to explain that.

I’m sorry to hear that brother. This website is something different. We aren’t Sherdog, MMAweekly or UFC Junkie. We aren’t a corporate entity. We simply want to deliver the best information on MMA that we can.

So you think Matt Serra will get another title shot before Alves? I don’t see him getting another title shot. I could be wrong. Also You have Tito listed at number 9. Is he still with the UFC? I thought he had his last fight and no longer was a part of the UFC? Sokoudjou ahead of Rashad? Anyway good read…..ps I still like the website…..lol
July 11, 2008 at 4:52 pm |
You bring up some good points. Serra is hard to judge because he’s only fought once over the last year. I think he sucks and will fall like harder then a Lindsey Lohan record, but he’s still the former champ. Alves’ next fight should make or break him and, if he wins, he’ll likely be the number one contender.
Either way, good feedback. Keep it coming.
Brett
PS The only reason Tito’s still ranked is because he has yet to officially sign with another organization. As soon as he does, he’s out.

why is thiago silva not in the top 10 in light heavyweight?
October 28, 2008 at 4:30 am |
Due to the ridiculously stacked light heavyweight division, I could not find a spot for Silva among the top ten in the division. That doesn’t mean anything about Silva as a fighter. The only thing keeping Silva out of a higher ranking (I recently added him to the rankings) is his competition. Once he defeats a ranked opponent on a televised card he’ll skyrocket up the rankings.
That’s for the input. Keep it coming. The more I hear from the readers, the better the rankings will get.
